Raymond Loewy – The man who shaped America. Loewy’s career have been longing
for 60 years where during these 60 years, you can say that he designed
everything.
Born in Paris 1893, Raymond Loewy establishes his own firm in 1930 and
in 1944 he formed the Raymond Loewy Associates with five partners. During his
lifetime, Raymond Loewy Associates worked for numerous private companies as
well as governments. His designs had a major effect on the man-made
environment.

Loewy has designed a range of cars, ships, airplanes, buildings,
appliances and products such as toothbrushes and pens.
Historians say that Loewy is the designer of the modern world,
thanks to his objects like the Coke bottle and Lucky Strike pack. His designs starts from one of IBM’s card punchers to three
massive cargo ships, from sewing machines to NASA.

Loewy was a brilliant designer but he also was in the right place at the
right time. His career exploded during the post-War economic boom. Loewy was
happy to try his hand on anything that comes to his hands. The most interesting
thing is the Loewy was really admirable and his design works were really
influenced by others. He once said that “I can claim to have made the daily
life of the 20th century more beautiful.”
